Cute little Dojo got a companion yesterday ...

I sensed my little Dojo was lonely, so went to the LFS and got him a companion. The two have taken to each other like peas in a pod. He's a lot fatter than the newcomer, as he hogs the O-Nip tablet at feeding time. But I think the other will catch up, eventually. It's fun watching those two.

Also got four Rosie Barbs, two males and two females. Now that my tank has cycled, they're all happy campers.

Fish are fun!

Tank is a 20-gallon-high with currently an undergravel filter and a maxi-jet 400 submersible pump with a UGF adapter that feeds into the UGF's lift tube. Also aeration with the Venturi bubbler that comes with the maxi-jet. I just purchased an Aquaclear 30 hob filter to augment this other (double filtration, not replacing the one for the other).

Tank contains white cloud minnows, zebra danios, the rosey barbs, 2 dojos and the snails. It contains artificial plants, including floaters, and has a fluorescent light in the hood.

It has cycled, and I still carefully watch the parameters. All fish are eating well, active and energetic. The male barbs have good color, the females naturally aren't as colorful.

When those dojo's get to be their full size, then you'll have an excuse to get a bigger tank  Hope you have a good lid. These jumpers make very rewarding pets.
Dojos are my favorite fish. I've kept fancier stuff like discus, angles, dwarf cichlids, etc, but dojos are just non stop entertaining. Mine actually let me pet them when they're hanging out in the floating plants!
My tank has a very tight lid -- nobody can get out. I've seen the Dojos shoot up to the surface then back down, and if there wasn't a lid, they would surely have jumped right out. Now that there are two, both seem more outgoing. The single Dojo hid a lot. Yeah, they're my favorites, too.

A Dojo is also called a "Weather Loach" , right?

So "They" say, that the up and down swimming can be indicative of a change in the barometric pressure :hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi:

Clowns , Corys, any Loaches ........... i have enjoyed them for years and years........ Good Luck with your new friend .
