T5 is actually too much for a 10g. If you don't put it up higher than a "hood" normally is
you will forever be having algae problems unless you have wall to wall plants and CO2.
However...Zoo Med makes a T5 light strip which uses a single bulb which can be found in the reptile section of pet store adds. So does Catalina for that matter.

THIS! I had a 48w T5 fixture on top of my 10 gallon, and there would be diatom blooms even after biweekly cleanings and only floramax substrate.
I would go with either a Finnex Fugeray or a Walmart desk lamp fixture with a 13 watt CFL
