I was looking for some reviews on this light and didn't see to much on the forums. Anyone using this light? What's your thought on the 24hr timer? With the E-series leaving the game I'm sure more people will be giving this light a look...

I have it, and really like it for the most part. I just finally set the timer after 3 months and wish I did it sooner, it's awesome.

I can't get any of the low carpet plants to grow- whether it's the lighting or I'm doing something wrong with the co2 is tbd, but have now tried several 'advanced' carpeting species without luck. Dwarf Saggitaria is great. That's in a 75g.

Is the E-Series being discontinued? I love that light! Although its made by Current and similar to the Sat Plus Pro, its a little nicer.

Yes it is being discontinued. I am also concerned with some of the overheating issues. So does the timer really work 24/7? For example could I start in moonlight, ramp up into daylight, ramp down to moonlight then off?

Take a look at my thoughts here. Since I've been using the iAqua Lite Arduino controller I've been much happier.

On the Sattelite Pro +.....

Yes. You even preset the intensity of the moonlight.
Ramp up and ramp down are about 15 minutes.
It's really nice.
Very easy to set timer.

Awesome, my fall back would be to build another Arduino if I wasn't a huge fan. This light uses a 660nm red led correct?
