I need to get some new bulbs for my tank and both Big Als and Drs. Foster & Smith have the Current brand bulbs for decent prices. I need 4x96W (150 gal tank) so price matters. Those of you that have used these bulbs, how have they faired? Do they look ok and have they lasted a decent amount of time?

Also, I see that a 6700/10000K bulb is offered (in fact, Big Als only has this bulb). How does it look? I'm guessing it has a whiter light due to the 10000k? I've only used the 6700K in the past so I'm wondering how the combo bulb compares. Would you go with 4 of the combo bulbs or maybe 2 combo and 2 6700k? Just looking for opinions.

I love 10000K and 6700K combinations. I used to have a Tek 4x54w with two 10000K bulbs and two 6700K bulbs.

You can get some cheap 96w square pin bulbs from Champion Lighting & Supply if I'm not mistaken, but they're only the single color temperature bulbs.

Otherwise, go with Big Als on Aquarium Equipment and Supplies - Aqua Buys. If you like a more natural daylight color, go with two 6700K and two dual bulbs.

Champion lighting has the 6700k and the 8800k on clearance for dirt cheap!

I have some of Current's dual daylight 6700K/10,000K bulbs and I like them really well.

I give 2 big thumbs up for the 8800k 96watt bulbs from Champion Lighting. Just switched out by 2x96watt over to these from one 6700/10000k, and one 6700k bulb the other week. Tank looks fantastic!
