I recently uprooted a bunch of my crypt rosen maiden to split off any daughters. Since then, I've lost a heap of plants. They've just melted completely, dropped all their leaves and turned to mush over about a week. They were planted in the same area of the same tank, in 3 month old Amazonia.

Any suggestions as to why and how to avoid it?

My experience with Crypts is that they don't like to be uprooted, even if it's to be replanted in the same substrate. There will be some die back, but as long as it's not too substantial and you can keep good water parameters for them, they will eventually bounce back

Yep, I've heard they don't like being uprooted. This just seemed to be an extreme reaction. They're straight out dead within a week. Got two left so hopefully they kick on.
