To be honest, my suggestion is to get ADA soil. If it isn't broken then don't fix it is my motto. Changing the substrate is worth the time and effort to successfully keep CRS in my opinion.

Im wandering how much people breed CRS with Eco complete..
because im Afraid the PH will be too high. and the CRS wont be Doing too good...
I currently dont have a PH tester because i losted the Tube
so any Suggestions?
hmm... how much "open area" is there that you could remove the eco without pulling plants and replace with ADA? The reason I ask is that it can still be beneficial to have some ada in there, plus you wont have to buy as much ada. just replace the eco with ada in the non-plant areas...Yea i would but Ada cost alot.. and my tank is already 4 months old and growing alot of plants and moss, ANd i have a Whole colony of Cherry shrimps in there breeding
This is also a 30 long 36"
I would advice against using ECO mixed with ADA. It would be more headache than a solution. Why? Because one will try to pull the ph up and the other will try to pull the ph down. It will not stabilize. Believe me, I have experienced this. It will turn into your little nightmare and your CRS are going to die.hmm... how much "open area" is there that you could remove the eco without pulling plants and replace with ADA? In my opinion it is worth spending the money on ADA if you are already spending the money on crs, which arent cheap either.
I have no idea what those colors mean. Nothing like a ph pen.I got the PH drop tester.
When i measure my tank water its green with a little hint of blue
My tap water is light blue\
My Eco is at least 8 months, old, So there should'nt be a problem
Use the color chart that came with the ph test kit.I got the PH drop tester.
