You would probably get fish that had qualities of both.
Unless you have lots of space and are willing to cull it's not worth it. Even if you only end up with say five or so good specimens where are you going to keep five goldfish? That is a lot of water. Plus with fry you will need to separate eggs from parents and do daily water changes and provide BBS, hatched and alive are best. It's a lot of work. If you don't have the time, space or knowledge I'd say you should just let things be.
