O.k. Need help. After doing my weekly maintainance and adding some new plant stock, I have noticed two new critters in the tank, neither of which I knowingly added. The first appears to be a leech. Is it possible? The plants have come from the lfs, but I am pretty sure that they have not come from there. The other creature I noticed was a very small invert (i think. It appears to have 6 legs, no claws, and a split tail It is approx. 1/4 inch long. I will try to get photos of both, but they are very quick to hide when noticed. :help:

It could easily be a leech and should be removed when possible. The other critter sounds like a Mayfly or other aquatic fly larvae. It's a little early in the season for most fly larvae, but the plants most likely weren't locally grown. They may have come from a hot/southern climate. Although most Mayflies eat detritus, many fly larvae are predatory and should be removed ASAP. Here's a Mayfly larvae:
