It's maybe 3mm and was stuck to glass.
Thanks

Looks like an ostracod (seed shrimp). Very few fish eat them.

Very nice quality picture of an ostracod! They are actually a part of a healthy eco system, and it's really hard to get rid of them once you have them. May as well enjoy watching them put around like a little Jetson's car ;)

Thanks guys.
I took the pic with my phone. Only took about 20 attempts. :grin2:
Does not at all look like a Ostracod (seed shrimp) to me. Could you possibly try getting more pics? Like a side view (Is it flat?). Can you describe how it moves around (swims really fast, or crawls around)? Are you certain the critter is not upside down?

I know of something that looks similar, but not quite the same looking as what you have pictured.
It's kind of flat and was stuck to glass. Seemed to be slimy. I don't recognize it from any pictures I looked at of aquarium critters.
I'm not sure if it's orientation.

How big is it? If you were able to touch it, it probably was not an ostracod. I was thinking it looked a bit like a macro shot of a cyprididae, but you wouldn't be able to just reach on and touch them if they were.

Doesn't look like a limpet either, so now @WaterLife has me very intrigued :)
My initial thought was some type of larvae but just couldn't verify.
Looks like a Snail leech to me, eats snails, can also latch onto small fish, very hard to eradicate, try observe it moving, they stretch then move, freaky to watch.
