OK - I put additives into the water to help the plants grow. And, I take the water out as a regular water change to help the inhabitants grow.

Hmmmmmm

Has anyone used the "old" water as houseplant fertilizer? It seems like it might be a good recycling technique.

(I went to the store and bought a wastebasket. The clerk put it in a bag. When I got home, I put the bag in the wastebasket.)

Haha, sounds like a Steven Wright observation ....My doctor told me I shouldn't work out until I'm in better shape. I told him, 'All right; don't send me a bill until I pay you.'

Sure, old tank water is good for plants. Extra nutrients, fish poo, plants love that stuff

I do it every day to every other day. Depends if my house plants are dry, damp, or moist. But yea its like a small partial water change every time. I just top off the tank water with dechlor tap water afterwards. I also am trying to put a small plant in my hob filter. To me its a win win win situation :smile2:
I use old tank water for my honeysuckle on the front porch and the plant is almost to my roof now!
Yep, I water my houseplants with aquarium water - plants love it.
Thanks everyone. I tried it yesterday and this morning I discovered that an umbrella plant had grown and was embracing my aquarium.

:yum:
I try to never dump aquarium water down the drain. What a waste of fertilizer!

I do a water change about every 2-3 months, but I'm always watering my house plants out of the tank.
