Not really surprised. He is definitely a quack.

While injecting co2 certainly produces higher concentrations then say an aquarium without injected co2. It does not provide less co2 then many natural bodies of water which can have co2 in the water from a combination of dissolving minerals and decaying matter. Thus making the argument that co2 is somehow unnatural is pretty nuts.

I don't expect everyone on the internet to know everything. But if someone is putting themselves out there as an authority on a topic, it would be nice if they bothered to do some basic research on it.

That's precisely why you should give your views to people who are not pushers of pseudoscience and disinformation.

YouTube has tons of creators and many of them are great. Some, as you've unfortunately discovered, are why eye rolls can sometimes be painful. This particular YouTuber causes more harm with newcomers to the hobby than probably anyone else who has been around the past 22-23 years. Every week we have new members who show up to resolve problems created because they followed his advice.

 

My fav is when he shows crappy tank after crappy tank.

 

Every time I see a new member thread with the line ‘I followed Father Fish…’ somewhere within it a piece of my patience dies.

 

Don't even talk about his water change philosophy and trying to legitimately compare nature to a glass box

 

I know this is 6 months old but I just love when people can see through Father Fish's nonsense.
I loaded up one video of his, and it started by saying yellow water is "aged" water and that it's old and should be removed..
"No body talks about tannins like that on my watch!" I thought to myself.
And I've never watched a single video of his ever again.
Guy is a quack..
