I have a Neocaridina Wild that my wife found in the kitchen, which was 15 feet and two chihuahuas away from my tank. 
When she saw the thing, it looked pretty dry. When she touched it, it moved... and so, she just tossed it back in the tank.
It is now pregnant.
Yup, they are roaches. They would probably live through a nuclear explosion.
