This morning I found an Amano shrimp on the carpet. It had obviously been spooked through the night enough to have jumped. The crazy/neat thing is that this 1/2" long little shrimp somehow made it through my closed canopy (which only has a couple of tiny openings which it could possibly make it through - pretty long odds for sure), straight down (50" drop at least) to the carpetted floor and then had the strength to actually pull itself more nearly 20 FEET accross CARPET! seemingly towards the light of the window. Amazingly it was still alive when I found it, but unfortunately the little Action Hero Adventurer didn't make it.

Very strange particullarly the direction took it toward the morning light.

I have a Neocaridina Wild that my wife found in the kitchen, which was 15 feet and two chihuahuas away from my tank. :p

When she saw the thing, it looked pretty dry. When she touched it, it moved... and so, she just tossed it back in the tank.

It is now pregnant.

Yup, they are roaches. :) They would probably live through a nuclear explosion.

I have had this happen with ghost shrimps- and they only seem to do it at night. The funny thing is, I am not sure what they were running/jumping from, since there were only shrimps in that tank.
