Hey guys. Recently, dense cotton-like fuzz are growing on my driftwood. The DW is immersed in my tank for the past 1 month. I believe that they are fungi. I noticed that my tank is getting a bit cloudy too. I wonder if it is an ammonia spike and i lost about 5 fish. Despite taking the DW out and scrubbing the fuzz away, it would still return. I am really worried about ammonia and tried dosing Prime to reduce the impact until things return back to normal.

My tank is about 1 year old and cycled.

I really like my DW as it was a gift from my sister when she went to HongKong, Monkok goldfish street. I hope my DW isnt rotting :icon_frow
What should I do?

And also, is it possible to identify my DW? Thanks alot :icon_smil

All new DW gets that. Its harmless and will usually balance itself out in a month or so after being in the water. Removing it and washing it has no effect as it just come back and its part of the cycle of new DW being in a tank.
