Everyone,

I have a 120 gallon tank that is sitting on a stand built of 2x4's. The stand is open on all sides. I would like to enclose the stand with fixed sides and doors on the front. It does not have to be beautiful, but I do care somewhat about the looks.

The aquarium is already in place on the stand, water, plants, fish, and everything, so what ever I do has to be pretty simple to apply to the stand.

I am one of those people with every power tool known to man, but not a whole lot of talent for using them.

My main problem is the doors. I want the front to be able to open wide, quickly and easily, for maintenance, but I don't have room in front of the stand to swing 2 foot doors.

Has anybody ever tried folding or tambour doors? Any other suggestions?

If I do this I promise to post pics.

Thanks,
Rod

Make 4 doors instead of 2. That's what I did on my stand.

In "normal" furniture, you hardly ever see doors that are wider than they are tall. On stands with wide doors, that's one of the things that make them look "aquarium stand" rather than "furniture", and a little out of place in a furnished room.
