composing a post in another application ?

I've been doing some thinking (a dangerous thing). I'd like to spend some time creating and editing what I want to post before I post here. What's the best application to work in so that I don't have a bunch of funky formatting to deal with when I copy and paste over?

Thanks

MS word also works for me. I tend to use it once and a while...,

Try using Mozilla Firefox, it has a spell checker built in. :) Apparently the dictionary attached to it doesn't have very many fish names in it though. :(
I took Wasser's advice and used notepad. I didn't want to leave a "compose new message" open while I thought about this. I only had to fix a little bit of formatting.

Thanks everybody.
I 2nd the use Mozilla Firefox... its pretty much the best internet browser out there... at work they of course only have I.E and I hate it and wish I could download Mozilla!

I think she meant she wanted to sit and ponder her thoughts before submitting it off...Notepad is great. It's usually plaintext so very minimal re-formatting is required, and it's small and loads quickly.
