Just started a new tank and I'm worried my Rotala is going to stay green under my medium lighting. I'm getting some Tiger Lotus and I need one of the background plants to be not green as well to help balance the look. I'm dosing Excel so plants that don't like Excel are going to be a problem.
Suggestions?

I'm running two evenly spaced 30" 24/7s at 21" from the substrate.

Indica will still turn red/pink. With proper co2 and fert you shouldn't have issues with other red plants either. Ludwigia or rotala macranda mini would probably provide what you are looking for. I'm sure there are several others but may be more difficult. Not 100%

I like Ludwigia glandulosa; it stays pretty red even in medium light and is relatively easy to grow.

Thank you, Roy, Glandulosa looks exactly like what I had in mind. It kind of resembles the Hygros I already have in there except red instead of green.

Dosing with Iron will help plants create/retain the redness, too.
