Hi folks,

I have an established 200L planted tank ... just Otos, Tetras and some Amano shrimp, nothing too exciting.

I have been looking at CO2 systems and have crashed hard at trying to get tanks for one. I have visited one (alleged) gas supplier who, despite their web site, basically couldn't be bothered to come out from the back and 'didn't do that' plus several phone calls to BOC and other welding, brewing, general gas suppliers which didn't seem to do smaller/domestic bottles.

Does anyone know where I can get Co2 bottles/refills in/near Edinburgh? From my reading, I was looking for around 2kg tank ... starting to think i might have to just go down to sodastream bottles or a generator.

I'm not sure if there is an economic way to do this mail order ... anyone have any experience?

Any help appreciated

Try Fire supression companies..you know those that service fire extinguishers.

Also try more country specific forums.

I checked ... it does seem to be posted in the "UK" section. I'm new to the forum - am I missing something about the headings? There are user posts below this that are clearly UK.

I looked at the ones in your link - unfortunately 2009 and Russel Gas is the one that both didn't do it and couldn't be bothered to come to the counter

In the US, I found that home brew (beer making supplies) stores typically have CO2 refill services and are more accesible than fire extinguisher / gas supply companies. Then after that, liquor/alcohol stores that sell kegs normally have CO2 exchange programs.
