Co2 Regulator Schematic

Hi Guys,

I recently got a regulator for my first pressurized CO2 setup. The regulator is a dual stage Matheson 3104C. I was surprised at the amount of holes/Inputs/Outputs on the Regulator. Is there some place that shows a diagram of what is supposed to go where? How do I know where each gauge goes, or where the post body kit screws into, etc etc. Most of the holes on the regulator have no markings so I'm a little lost.

Thanks for any help.

A picture would be extremely helpful.

Here are some pictures.

In the first one is everything that I guess I need to connect to the regulator.
The two other pictures show the 4 holes remaining in the regulator.

The only thing connected to the regulator right now is one gauge, next to the hole it's connected to it says "HP". Then to the right of that hole there is one labeled "IN" which I assume is where the post body kit will go. Followed by that are 3 unmarked holes.

HP is for high pressure, most likely you would connect your high pressure gauge there. The in is probably where you would connect your CGA 320 nipple that connects the regulator to the co2 cylinder. The other ports are probably low pressure, for the post body kit, emergency pressure release valve, and an extra outlet. It looks like there is a plug in the extra outlet.

So starting from the "in" port and going counter clockwise you will probably have the following:
-CGA nipple
-low pressure gauge
-high pressure gauge
-post body kit
-pressure release
-plugged extra port

Does that make sense for your regulator?
Thanks Jason, I'll tried your setup out and it appears to work!
Reviving an old thread here with a similar question. I just bought the same reg and was wondering what the hole on the back of the reg is for? In that last pic of the original posters pictures. The back chamber has a hole there as well with threads... ?

Thanks for everyone's help!

So this is a 2 stage regulator . . . would that tap in back be for a gauge to monitor the first stage pressure drop? Without having the spec sheet on this reg, that is my hunch.
Here is a picture of one set up:

Parker/Veriflo shows porting diagrams, but I couldn't find them for Matheson/Trigas. I also couldn't find a spec for the 3104c (although I did see a 3200 series).

So what do I do with that port then... I assume that is something unneeded for our applications.

Oh, and this guy has one:

You could check to see if he is still around -- he might be able to answer your questions.
There shouldnt be anything in it but a plug. If your holding the regulator like the OP was in his picture. You should have (look at the 2nd pic. where his thumb is at) from right going left. The first hole would be CGA320, Then high side gauge, then Low side gauge, Then output. Then Plugged. Then to the back would also be plugged.

So what is that fitting on the bottom in that picture? I have the same fitting in the same place... is that the pressure release or something? Do i just leave it as is? The output of the elbow of that piece is threaded.

that order seems right.. there is just the one more port on the bottom that I mentioned above...

The one more port is just like my Matheson. It should be plugged.
