Safety valve blown, milwaukee regulator

I was told my safety valve is blown on my milwaukee regulator and that it would cost $60 to fix it at airgas. Is this worth it or will it happen again?

Also does anyone have a clue exactly what causes this? My guess is the change in temperature caused the pressure to increase.

Thank you in advance.

The WORST part is you can get a new one (w/ spare parts ) for close to that.........

A safety valve costs around $10..... Most reset (just a spring) not sure why it would stay open unless Mil. designed it that way. That said it does point to other problems.. internally..
you can get a new one w/ new solenoid, bubble counter for close to that price.. Your call..
