If I have a fishless tank, should I worry about co2 levels? I mean, can I crank co2 to like 50ppm+ to jump start a tank for a month or so and then slowly back off before stocking? the 15-30ppm rule is just because of fish health, right?

Yea, you can crank it as high as possible.

That's what I did. Growth was amazing and the best part....no snails.

so you do see more growth with more CO2 assuming you have enough light and ferts....sweet.

When I started my tank I was able to get it up to about 90ppms

even when u do add fish keep it like 30 to 35 ppm anit going to hurt the fish

I'm putting a 2 liter bottle with distiller's yeast into a 2.5g, that should be ridiculously high co2! :biggrin:
