I was wondering how often do people take there glass co2 diffusers out of the tank and clean them? Cause I have had mine in the tank for almost 6 months straight and it looks better then the day I cleaned it. What do you clean yours with? Ever try epsom salt? I have not seen algae on mine since I have used it. When I add epsom salt to my tank weekly I add it right on the diffuser and I have never had to clean it since.

I clean mine whenever it starts to look a little grimy. If I'm not lazy during my water changes, I will take it out then and clean it too.

For cleaning, I use either a 1:20 bleach dilution or a hydrogen peroxide bath.

How are you adding the epsom salts? As a solid, directly on to the diffuser disc? How would your plants get the necessary nutrients if this is the case?

No I been adding it right on top of the disk. I add it every week when I do a water change so far which is what made me ask. I only did it that way cause I know its great for killing algae on a pond water fall so I tried it on top.
