Co2 and Ph?

I just set up a pressurized co2 system in my 55 gallon. How will this affect the ph of the tank? Also, should the diffuser be on the opposite side as the filter, or underneath the filter so the water falling down can keep the bubbles submerged? Seeing that I'm new to co2 systems, is there anyhting else I need to know? Thanks!

Yes, that would be best, under the outtake. The CO2 will be distributed around the tank better too.

CO2 will lower the pH but will not harm anything.
