SO i have a 20 gallon with a bio wheel and co2, my question is will the bio wheel take a substantial amount of co2 out of the water??? I havent had to do a trim since ive got it and i have had the co2 for a week in a half...is that normal growth???? Or am i losing to much co2????

Hey, I made it work in a 37 gallon tank with 3.25wpg.

it works, but ive been reading that the bio-wheel lets around 25% of the co2 escape....i was just wondering if it was enough to stunt the growth of the plants..

It's extra work, but I had no stunting. I was even growing l. gladulosa, stellata, d.diandra.

It's not extra "work", it's extra co2! And that means $$!

Yea....my plants are growing so its not a big deal...i would take off the bio-wheel but im thinking of changing out the substrate soon so i dont want to not have the extra biological filtration.....maybe after in a couple of months when everything settles in my tank i will take it off...thanks

Extra work meaning he'll need larger batches of DIY co2 made more often. I used 3 1 gallon jugs changing 1 out every 4 days!!!
