Any suggestions?

I've got a fairly large clump of taiwan moss that's grown out pretty large, but it's got a bunch of junk in it that my syphon just hasn't helped clean out. Brown waste material and such.

Should I just pull it out and swish it in a bucket of water? I'm not really thrilled about having to let it re-root.

if they are attached to something i dont think it would deattach that easily.. jus swirl around in bucket

When you refill the tank, try pouring the water directly onto it or having the hose pointed right at it. That'll kick the mulm out, and then you can do another water change to siphon it out.
