Does anyone have experience / suggestions for working with chrome plated stuff. I will be replacing a cga fitting and do not want to scratch up the finish with a regular crescent wrench - or will I be ok if I just get the wrench on there snug before I try to crank turn the fitting?

If all you have is the crescent wrench, tighten it down till you think the wrench is gonna start slipping and use the co2 cylinder and just turn the regulator until its tight. (you'll have to tighten the Cga connection first.) Alternatively, a box end 11/16 works fine.

chrome is very strng actually, also very corrosion resistant, its why tools are plated with it
a "QUALITY" and i stress quality plating job is very hard to scratch, ding, or peel off

Well the cga is an airgas product - they seem pretty quality and it is going into a western medica regulator (coping Bettatail lol) which also looks pretty quality. I don't think I will really have an issue, just wanted to double check with the people that know what's going on around here. Thanks for the help.
