Did you get them from aquatic magic in Malaysia thru E_b_ay?

They will recover if they have some green on it. Just give them a good light. But if they are all brown, they wont probably recover.Take photos and ask for refund.

I always buy from aquaticmagic many years ago, until the USDA confiscated the moss.
I dont really know where it was from,....a local store got them in for me...ill have to contact them
any other suggestions to see if it can grow....Ive kept them in the little cups they came in, rinsed them out, added tank water (which has ferts and co2 in it) and then have them floating in the tank under the lights....any other suggestions?
Let them recover by placing the moss near the surface of your tank. There are many ways to do it. You can use the net bag that comes with garlic and let if float at the corner of your tank close to light. Or find a flat object that wont float and wrap your moss with the garlic net bag and hang it on the side of your tank close to the surface as you can.

The purpose of placing the moss close to the surface, so you can easily see them when they are recovering or not and to give them plenty of light to recover. The surface current also provides oxygen.
so you suggest having them outside the pots they came in then?
Yea, take them out. It wont help placing them in a tiny enclose space.

Also, I'd like to see the moss condition. Post photos if you can.

if there are pieces like 1-2 cm in length that are green....should i cut them off and let them float?....i dont have a mesh bag...but I have a breeding container that i can let the healthy moss float in, which I can situate under the light and allow for good water flow through the container
