i've got a some that's been in a 2 months in one tank, 1 month in the other. It looks like most any type of drift wood light brown. When the snails, Nertie, Ramshorn & MTS run over it you'll see a lighter tan trails.

Being cactus it's not dense like wood. I can't image it will last for years like Mopane will.

One I have Taiwan moss growing on, the other Java Trident. It is nice for that use due to the holes.

I'm have a small problem with pics right now, once I have that resolved I'll post some.

It will darken up some and will disintegrate in about a years time. Shrimp freakin love cholla wood and the feathery green algae I grew on it was not unpleasant to the eye. No pics of it though sorry. It came it went but i would do it again.:hihi:
