Someone is selling a 54" tank which is ideal for my next planted tank but there is a chip halfway up on the back corner. Should I avoid it out would it be ok. I can add another layer of silicone inside and out of need be.

I wouldn't fill it with water in my house. There's no shortage of intact aquariums in the world, so being picky is easy.

In the grand scheme of things the glass box isn't the expensive part (livestock, furniture, carpeting, the lawyer of the downstairs neighbors...).

Thanks I didn't take the chance. I found a 4ft sumped tank with a 100ltr sump for the same price. With no chips or cracks.
