Hi, does anyone use chemi-pure carbon resin in their planted tanks ? What is your findings on this product, do you less water changes now ect. thanks.:fish:

There was a good reason not to use chemi-pure on a planted tank... and if I remember correctly, it absorbs CO2? Do a forum search and I'm sure you'll find some threads.

+1 on Purigen.

it absorbs alot of the ferts you pay good money for... the purigen for some weird reason doesn't

Purigen absorbs primarily natural organics (waste ammonia, tannins, etc), so ferts are not as attracted to it.

NOTHING replaces water changes... as far as keeping fish healthy.

But yes, Purigen is a great water polisher.
