Hey Guys. I'm new to the planted aquarium scene. Been taking plants from my bud and hitting up the LFS (Tideline Aquatics). So far it's been fun and frustrating haha Any local guys have suggestions of where to go for plants, fish, driftwood? I'm setting up my 56 column tank here in a few days to hopefully resolve some plant growing issues.

hey how's it going?

this area is pretty low in activity. The guys at Tideline are definitely the best in charleston, though a little pricey. I only buy fish from them though - they get good stock.

56 column might be tough, what are the dimensions?

Yea that's what I thought too. It's a 30"L x 18"W x 24"H . The wall is 32 inch so it's the biggest I could get to fit. Think it's too tall or wide? I was thinking of having driftwood in the back left corner extending out to the center. Then open area on the front right extending to the center. I guess it's called the triangle shape.

that should be pretty awesome. definitely a unique shape.

Definitely keep going to Tideline, they're the best by far. There is also a place in West Ashley called "Age of Aquariums" on Sam Ritt. They have a pretty good selection of driftwood....though I tend not to buy fish there.
