Is it safe to get a razor blade and get chalk lines off underwater? Above water if I use a little bit of vinegar to clean the glass of mineral stains that won't hurt either (just dab a little on a towel and wipe it off, not pouring it in or anything:hihi? Thanks for the help!

Salt is the word your looking for.... and yes, on glass it is just fine. Use NEW blades and cchange often.

Try not to slice your finger off.

I love razor blades for cleaning the tank sides. Usually I do it just before a water change, so the algae and stuff gets sucked out. And I'm assuming by chalk you just mean hard water stains?

Yeah, that's what I mean. I was just a little bit afraid the grains would get caught in the blade and scrape against the glass...
