I was just curious as to what the differences are between the 2-pin, 4-pin and the screw-in (spiral) fluorescent bulbs?

Being new to this type of lighting, would a screw-in spiral that puts out 15w equal to a 4-pin putting out 15w forexample?

I've compared the numbers on a few bulbs and they seem to be the same, I am just wondering if I am missing something.

2-pin? 4-pin? Screw-ins have a base that screws into a socket...which bulbs are you talking about? Any pics?

And no, it shouldn't make a big difference what the type of base is. Although screw-in CFs will give you less useable light than they state on the package due to re-strike and poor reflectors.

Doesn't matter how many pins it is. What matters is the design of the bulb.

ie: Quad, spiral, etc...
