I am looking for new bulbs to replace the CFL bulbs currently lighting my low-tech 10g (they are starting to dim). Is there any difference between a bulb with 6500k rating and 8000k? Is one better for plants over the other? What CFL bulbs would you recommend for a low-tech planted tank?

If you need any info about my tank (plants, fert schedule, substrate, stock, etc) in order to answer my questions just let me know and I will type it out

"Lights Of America 10 Watt Mini Fluorescent Aquarium Bulb" from Walmart are 6500k and cheap. Gives 2wpg so leave the guards on and take the reflectors off of your hood for a low tech. I would not go over 2 ten watt bulbs or your going to be in algae city. I have this set-up on my 10 gallon grow out tank.
