Hi guys,
I'm trying to determine if I have too much or too little lighting? I know there's all kinds of tech head stuff about it, but my lightbulb of understanding has not yet turned on.
So I went to Lowes and got a 5000K and a 6500K 23watt light bulbs that are supposed to put out 100watts each. And my tank is a 10gallon tank.
With the two CFL bulbs rated at 100watts, I get (100watts + 100watts)/10gallons and I have a 20WPG, and that's waaaay to high!
OR
With the two CFL bulbs rated at 23watts, I get (23watts + 23watts)/10gallons and I have a 4.6WPG, still alot, but maybe ok?
maybe I need to get the 13watt bulbs?
or is it that they each produce around 1500 Lumens and that's what I should be counting?
can someone help me out with this, or at least let me know how (in a fairly low tech manner) get in the right ball-park?
Thanks much!
Todd
