Small, daphnia-like (in size, but not structure) freshwater inverts which usually inhabit puddles or nvernal pools. They don't typically give live birth, but lay eggs which stay dry for years at a time until they are submerged in water for ~24-48 hours, at which point they hatch and the cycle begins again. What are fairy shrimp?

No, not at all :wink:Fairy shrimp aka Bamboo/Wood shrimp are all Atyopsis species, I believe.
They're quite a bit larger than daphnia. The smallish ones are perhaps 1/4" long, and the bigger species are an inch or more. The biggest species grows up to 3.5".Small, daphnia-like (in size, but not structure)
