I have a 75g setup with eco-complete substrate. It's been going for about 9 months. I need help with a carpeting plant. My specific problem is getting the plants to stay in the substrate. The fish (Discus and rainbows) must contribute to the problem. I tried using a stainless steel mesh from McMaster-Carr but hiding the screen without burring the plants was a challenge. It's been more than a month since trying this and barley a leaf is showing.
What tricks and techniques are there for keeping carpeting plants in place long enough so they root.
