3rd annual Carolina Aquatics Trade Show - Jan 31st

January 31, 2015 at USC Upstate Spartanburg, SC

The South Carolina Aquaria Association is proud to bring you the 3rd Annual Carolina Aquatics Trade Show. Thanks to all of you, CATS 2014 was a huge success and CATS 2015 promises to be even bigger and better

A portion of proceeds from past shows have gone to the children of the Greenville Children's Hospital. SCAA partnered with the Greenville Children's Hospital to provide a free betta setup, including a free betta, to children in the hospital. There is no greater feeling than seeing a child's face light up and knowing that you had a part in putting that smile on their face. Giving back to the community is what SCAA is all about!

Vendors from all across the southeast will bring you a wide selection of Freshwater, Marine, and Reef livestock as well as aquaria related equipment, food, additives, and many, many other supplies. We have a great line up of speakers discussing a wide range of topics covering marine, reef, and freshwater aquaria. We also have a large selection of door prizes which will be drawn for throughout the day.

Hours are from 11:00am til 5:00pm.
General admission is $5 per adult. Children 16 and under admitted free with accompanying adult.
Every paid admission receives a door prize ticket as well as a grab-bag of goodies (while the grab-bags last)
TONS OF DOOR PRIZES including RO/DI systems, lighting, wavemakers, and more !!!

Looking for that hard to find freshwater shrimp or exotic plant? Or some cool plecos? Maybe you have some salt in your veins and you're looking to find that one (or two...or three...) perfect coral to complete your reef tank? We've got something for everyone.
We have tons of door prizes, auction items, and an impressive lineup of speakers covering some interesting topics concerning freshwater and marine aquarium related issues.

not to sound harsh....but giving away a Betta kind of turns me off on this.

Hmm, not sure I follow your logic? To each their own, however.

We gave the betta bowls, food, care info etc. to select children at the hospital (after checking w/parents, since you know who's really taking care of the fish!), then gave them a coupon allowing the patient from the local children's hospital to receive a free betta from a local fish store. That turns you off? Sorry to hear that, since fish are about the only animals they are allowed to have as a pet due to their immuno-compromised status. We did not "randomly" give away bettas.

Sorry you missed C.A.T.S. 2015, it was a blast. Had a lot of plants for sale and the FW vendors sold out of them (great prices). About 450-500 attended this year. We had over $5,000 in door-prizes from sponsors that we handed out! Looking forward to next year's show. Scheduled for the last Saturday in January, 2016.

Bump:
Here's an idea - Join the SCAA, since you are in SC. Be an active member, and you can help decide what charity we contribute to this year :)
