Hi there, 6 cardinal tetra's showed up a day earlier than my food for them did. I was looking for some impromptu food I could make with home supplies? Anything easy/simple most people have in their home I could feed them until the food shows up tomorrow?

Going a day without food isn't going to hurt them. In fact, it's really common for new fish to fast for a day or two simply from stress, after they arrive.
