So I did a carbon switch on my 55 gallon and 20 gallon. During a water change I took out the carbon out of my 20 gallon and threw it away. I then took out one carbon thing from my 55 gallon and placed it in the 20 gallon. (The 55 gallon holds 2 carbon, while the 20 gallon holds only 1 carbon.) Anyway, after that, I put a new carbon thing in the 55 gallon. So it has one full of bacteria and one not. I am wondering if this is going to hurt anything, for instance start a mini-cycle in any of tanks, or anything else.

You should be fine. It's amazing how much bacteria carbon can hold. In addition, many people don't use carbon at all.
