I have a newly set up tank that I have just noticed has some sort of algae growing on it. There was actually a post about what seems to be the same type but no one gave the name of it.

At this point it is only growing on the driftwood, is whiteish/clear, and sways with the current.

Any names so that I can look into it?

fungis, take wood out waste it,boil it and putit back in the tank, if its grapevine it may mold and become like that, so jus wash it

Just ride it out, it will go away on its own.

It is actually called tambora wood root. thanks for the replies.

i had that on my new driftwood that i put in my tank and i just kinda wiped it off with my hands and it eventually went away. You dont need to take it out and boil and blah blah blah...
