Hi everyone, I ordered some cyperus helferi online and received it with its tops trimmed off. I read on another forum that if you trim it from anywhere besides the base the leaf will just die off. Is that true? Thanks

You have to trim at the base. Never heard of it being sold with the tops cut off. The plant attracts algae very easily if water isn't kept clean enough.

Well it should still produce new leaves from the base if conditions are good. But yeah the existing leaves are history.
