My buddy is a fish expert and I have consulted many books and none of us can identify what species of fish this....do any of you know what it is??

Yep, Rod Hay got it. They are also called Asian Rummynose. How big is the fish in the picture?

yup there asian rummynose...I only have 2 that are 2.5 inches and the other 2 either got eaten or are hiding.
I cant seem to find anyone that has any around here.

they love to be in schools of several individuals. The males are more colorful than the females, which tend to be silver-ish. They also prefer somewhat basic water and will display beautiful blue and orange coloration in aforementioned water. Have fun.
