Can snails starve out shrimp/oto's?

I've got pond snails, which is OK, because my algae is being held in check. But they have multiplied so much that I am concerned there may be nothing left for my Oto and Amano shrimp.

Are my concerns founded?

You can always supplement your otos and shrimp with algae wafers. Usually shrimp and otos can get some before it's covered by snails.

I think the increase in the bioload would be more of a concern with a snail population explosion though.....
Pond snails multiply too quickly. What will keep them in check? I've seen my ottos eat bloodworms as well as the shrimp.
Doh! Algae wafers. I wasn't thinking

I think the lack of algae will do the trick. Snails are more entertaining than algae and easier to physically remove.
