Yesterday I began treating some BBA with Flourish Excel. This is my very first planted tank and the very first time I have ever used Excel.

Yesterday also happened to be my weekly maintenance day so prior to adding any Excel I did a (+) %50 water change and did a little pruning. Additionaly I decided that it would be a good time to service the Filters. I'm using two Fluval 405's - both were cleaned out well and the filter floss and a tray of Purigen was replaced all other media was rinsed clean of filter sludge (with H2O from the tank).

While the tank sat half empty I took a syringe of Excel and doused some of the BBA directly as it was now immersed from the water. I left it to sit for about 15 minutes and then filled the tank to the top while dosing the balance of the Excel directly into the water.

The total dose administered was about 45-50ml for a 90 gallon tank. This works out to being slightly above the normal dose of 5ml/10gal (when doing a water change)

Today when I come home from work my tank water is slightly cloudy (this has not happened since shortly after my initial setup 6 months ago).

I am also running pressurized CO2; I now believe the CO2 levels were inadequate and have been raising the amount slowly over the past week. The tank is also considered high light and I am dosing per the EI method.

Anybody have any input they could offer?

Is it the Excel? And, is it something to be concerned with? I was planning on continueing with the treatment by dosing every other day at a rate of about 10-15ml/50gal for 2 weeks.

I don't believe the Excel had anything to do with clouding the water. Continue your intended routine with Excel dosing.
Probably something that had to do with your filter servicing - likely just a temporary situation. Get your Purigen back in when it's re-charged, and give your tank a couple of days - should clear up. I wouldn't worry about it.
