Sorry to inform you but it's not suitable for aquariums. Take it back, as for a refund and tell them to stick it in a pot and move them to the terrestrial plants dept. It is most likely Dracaena sanderiana . Kept underwater the leaves will rot in weeks/months.

Oh good to know that. Thanks so much for the answer. It has been in the tank about 5 - 6 hours. Is it harmful for other plants or fishes ?

So long as you remove it before it starts rotting, it should be fine.

The problem arises when rotting starts, as this may lead to an ammonia spike which can hurt fauna.
