That's a bodge-job.

You should be able to take the socket from an old light fixture, or buy one new at a home improvement store. It's clearly just spliced with an old piece of electrical wire cut from a plug-in device.

Shouldn't cost more than a few bucks to make, especially if you grab the socket from an old light and cut the cord off of some old appliance from the trash.

It's far from waterproof, though.
