After taking the last RNT back to the store today, the lady there told me those were the smallest ones she's ever seen come in and thought it was odd. Hopefully if they were able to order any for this Friday they aren't as tiny. If they are it's gonna be a pass and maybe I'll get them later, from a store when they're larger (if not order online).

Thanks! To get my mind off it I moved the pygmy corys into my 40 gallon since they were so active and did not appear to have any issues while I observed the past few days. I know some people quarantine for a month or a couple weeks - I just keep an eye and try to keep a hospital tank on standby. After moving the trio (I'll be getting more as soon as they get more) I went ahead and emptied the quarantine tank, put in some black sand (first time using black, it looks great), a nice piece of driftwood I got recently that I was saving, and glued a little bit of java moss on the wood. Set up the same filter and silk plant as before for the bacteria, along with some sponges I had in there for bacteria. Next fish that quarantine will have a bit nicer tank to relax in before being moved into their permanent home.

Oh no, poor little guy. One of the batches I had I left to grow out in the shop for a couple of months and just kept checking in to make sure they still had them and they were the same ones.

Having the QT is the way to go. I would allow a minimum of 7 days.
Doing this and having live baby brine shrimp ready to feed with make a huge difference.
Bred Discus for decades and often kept groups of Rummy noes with them. I usually shoot for 84-86*F.

I am not going to be much help, but understand where you are coming from. I bought 9 RNTs 6mths ago and still have all 9, all looking fabulously happy from the get-go despite a 5 hour drive home and then a bumpy 6km driveway.
BUT, I have lost every Cory or Otto I have put in there with them (except those I rescued to other tanks once I realised there was a problem). So sort of the opposite problem to yours.
I now have 2 Ladder Loaches in there (testing the waters so to speak) and now that they have been happy for a month I am thinking of more. I suspect my (large, local) driftwood of releasing something, but some stuff just remains a mystery I guess.
Mine were bigger than yours I think, maybe 3-3.5cm. And evidently there are different species of RNT, some of which might be hardier?

RNTs really prefer it to be that much warmer? Dang, every video I've seen have said 75-84F or something in that range. Perhaps I need to do a tank of just RNTs for that temp.

Kinda had the inverse of my problem eh? 6 km driveway?? That's such a long driveway! Must be a nice piece of property! I think these are just your run of the mill RNTs, not the Asian version or the other that I can't remember what it's called. I'll have to do a longer acclimation next time, keep the tank covered, and get some more stuff in there (I have one silk plant and a nice big piece of driftwood now but I'd like to glue some anubias or something onto the driftwood).

I'll have to do some more research and get some water hardness tests to see if that is causing an issue. Maybe it's looking like a celestial pearl danio tank after all... lol
