Hey guys,

I'm getting these plants Crypt minima and crypt ideii red next week and was wondering if there are any special considerations I need to be aware of so that they won't die on me. (adam, hint hint :help

Also should I be growing them emersed or submersed? and if emersed how?

Where are are you going to get the plants?? It's better to have them emersed. There's a chance that they'll turn into mush when submersed.

They'd do far better emersed than submersed. They can grow submersed, but they'll both need pretty soft and acidic water to do well.

For emersed growth, a 50-50 mix of Aquasoil and spaghnum peat or leaf compost would work perfectly find for both. Set the pots in an inch or so of R/O water, throw a light over it and let them go. If they're happy, they might shoot up a spathe in a few months for you.
