I have a 20 gal with some microswords, sword plant and some dwarf sags. Over the last two days, it seems like the leaves are having a random burnt brown color to them.

Is this algae and what type?

How long has the tank been set up? Got any pix?

Well, the tank was set up for a month, then I added fish and plants. Then about a week ago I rescaped it using the same things and most of the same water. I used filter media prior to the rescape, and other items from my other aquarium, to hasten the initial cycle.

One of my nana swords leaves have also started going clear, which I think was from the shock of moving.

Without pix--my first guess would be diatoms. How much light does this setup have? Is it only on the plant(s)?

Do a search for diatom--here and or google.
